Industrial production increases in May

Industrial production increased 0.2% in May after increasing 1.4% in April. Total commercial production in May was 5.8% greater than its year-earlier level.

Manufacturing output fell 0.1% in May. The index for nondurable production reduced increased 0.1%, while the indexes for resilient production and for other production (publishing and logging) moved down 0.2%. The output of energies increased 1.0%, while the index for mining increased 1.3% in May.
