ISM Manufacturing increases in August

The U.S. production sector reduced in August, Manufacturing PMI® signed up 47.6%, 1.2 portion points greater than the 46.4% taped in July. Regarding the total economy, this figure shows a ninth month of contraction after a 30-month duration of growth.

The Employment Index signed up 48.5%, up 4.1 portion points from July’s reading of 44.4%.

The New Orders Index stayed in contraction area at 46.8%, 0.5 portion point lower than the figure of 47.3% taped in July.

The New Export Orders Index reading of 46.5% is 0.3 portion point greater than July’s figure of 46.2%.

The Inventories Index reduced by 2.1 portion indicate 44%; the July reading was 46.1%.
