New orders for produced resilient items in March increased $2.3 billion or 0.8% to $275.0 billion, the U.S. Census Bureau revealed today. This boost, up 5 of the last 6 months, followed a 1.7% February boost. Excluding transport, brand-new orders increased 1.1%. Excluding defense, brand-new orders increased 1.2%.
Shipments of produced resilient items in March, up 10 of the last eleven months, increased $3.3 billion to an overall of $274.2 billion. This followed a 0.1% February boost. Transportation devices, up 5 of the last 6 months, led the boost, increasing $1.9 billion, or 2.4%, to an overall of $80.0 billion.
Inventories of produced resilient items in March, up fourteen successive months, increased $3.3 billion or 0.7% to $482.9 billion.
